RAMCODES is a methodology for the rational compaction of geomaterials. Among its applications can be found the optimization of the mechanical strength of granular pavement layers. This is achieved through densification, considering both their degree of compaction and saturation. The purpose of this case study is to assess the results of the implementation of the RAMCODES methodology in the compaction control of granular layers of flexible pavement, by using data from the construction project of the access road to the campus of the Juan de Castellanos University Foundation (FUJC); hence, both field and laboratory tests are carried out. The verification of compliance with the compaction requirement is carried out under the criteria of the General Specifications for Road Construction (EGCC) of INVÍAS (2022). The compaction results are analyzed by considering the influence of the variables that are involved in generating resistance maps and design curves of the pavement material to be built, on the premise of obtaining a layer that satisfies the resistance required by the EGCC. It was concluded that it is feasible to obtain the minimum strength under different combinations of compaction and saturation degree, as evidenced by the design curves determined for the material studied.
