This article shows the State of Art of Sociolinguistics in the Master programs of Seminar Andrés Bello in the Caro y Cuervo Institute, the National University of Colombia, the University of Antioquia and the University of Valle. The work took into account four categories: the analysis of the proposed objectives and methodology, showed a tendency to descriptive correlating studies. With regard to the level of sociolinguistic analysis, the ethnography of speech prevailed over the microsociolinguistic and the macrosociolinguistic. Most of the monographs opted for the analysis of communicative situations and events. Likewise, it stood out the treatment of the social variable, among the varieties of language usage.
