Abstract

The Microbiology Laboratory of the Agricultural Sciences Faculty of in the Juan de Castellanos University received for autopsy two male Ross chickens aged 4 weeks reporting bloody diarrhea, low food conversion, little weight gain and high mortality rates in the batch. During the necropsy there were found injuries along the digestive tract, mainly in the cecums increased in size, with a large amount of blood in the organ light, hemorrhagic mucosa, congested, with a velvet aspect and presence of blood clots unstuck to the mucosa. After the evaluation it was concluded that the case was an infestation by Eimeria of the gender Tenella.
